Jury Convicts Labor Organization, Owners of Fraud

A federal jury convicted a labor organization and its owners of fraud for falsely representing that national insurers backed the work comp coverage it provided in California and other jurisdictions. The U.S. District Attorney’s Office in Sacramento on Thursday announced that Marcus Asay, 68, Antonio Gastelum, 53, and their company, Agricultural Contracting Services Association, which did business as American Labor Alliance, were convicted after a 19-day trial.
