A decision by the Texas Supreme Court is being called a major milestone on the long road to forcing air ambulance companies to abide by workers' compensation fee limits and fair and reasonable reimbursement levels.
But it will probably take a federal court ruling in a separate case, and possibly a review by the U.S. Supreme Court, to finally resolve the issue of helicopter bills, which can top $60,000, lawyers in the cases said.
