A Pennsylvania lawmaker introduced legislation that would increase benefits provided to workers who are seriously and permanently disfigured.
Rep. Jason Dawkins, D-Philadelphia, introduced House Bill 183, which would allow workers who suffer serious and permanent disfigurement to any body part to receive up to two-thirds of their wages for 400 weeks.
Currently, workers can receive up to 275 weeks of benefits only for disfiguring injuries to the head, neck or face.
Dawkins introduced a similar bill in 2023 that ultimately died in the Senate.
