Labor Department Alleges Peterbilt Illegally Fired Worker Over COVID Concerns

Peterbilt Motor Co. illegally fired a worker in retaliation for raising concerns about exposure to the new coronavirus at the company’s facility in Denton, Texas, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. The department on Wednesday filed a lawsuit against PACCAR Inc., which does business as Peterbilt Motor Co., asking the federal court for the Eastern District of Texas to reinstate the employee and comply with other anti-retaliation provisions in the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
