Governor Signs Bill to End TTD When Worker Released to Full Duty

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte signed a bill allowing temporary total disability benefits to be terminated when an injured worker is released to full duty. The governor on Monday signed House Bill 197, by Rep. Anthony Nicastro, R-Billings. The bill authorizes payers to terminate TTD benefits when an injured worker is released to full duty before or upon reaching maximum medical improvement. Under the terms of the bill, TTD benefits could be terminated as of the day the claimant returns to work or 14 days after providing written notice, whichever is earlier.
