The California Division of Workers’ Compensation said it delayed until Monday the filing of proposed rules extending authorization for qualified medical evaluators to provide telehealth services.
The division originally planned to file the proposed emergency rules with the Office of Administrative Law on Dec. 28.
In May 2020, the division adopted an emergency regulation allowing telehealth and telemedicine services for medical-legal examinations. The rule, readopted in March 2021 and October 2021, is set to expire Jan. 10.
