Fatal Injuries Down in Latest Report

There were 469 fatal occupational injuries in Texas in 2020, down 23% compared to the 608 occupational deaths in 2019, according to the latest Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries published by the Division of Workers’ Compensation. Private sector employees accounted for 92% of fatal 2020 work accidents, and the 431 incidents were down from 573 the year before.
