The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries said in a statement it discovered health and safety violations at 130 farms this year and expects that number to rise over the next few weeks.
More than 20 agriculture businesses were cited for “serious violations” of COVID-19 safety requirements, including 10 companies that were reprimanded for inappropriate temporary worker housing, according to an L&I news release.
L&I said it also issued citations for inappropriate social distancing.
