The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Division said it will conduct quarterly reviews to make certain that insurers and self-insured employers are conducting vocational assistance eligibility determinations, starting May 1.
Oregon statute and administrative rules require payers to evaluate whether injured workers who are unable to return to their regular jobs are eligible for vocational assistance.
The division said the focused audits it conducted to verify that the assessments are performed as required “have shown ongoing noncompliance.”
