Court Overturns Denial of PTD Benefits From Second Injury Fund

A Missouri appellate court overturned a denial of permanent total disability benefits from the Second Injury Fund to an operator of heavy equipment with a host of compensable injuries. Larry Obermann worked as a heavy-equipment operator at a rock quarry for Base Rock Minerals. He injured his right shoulder at work in November 2017. Obermann previously suffered five other work-related injuries, and he received more than 50 weeks of permanent partial disability benefits for four of them.
