Is this the year that the Oklahoma Legislature tackles comprehensive repairs to its beleaguered workers’ compensation law?
Judging by the number of bills introduced ahead of the Feb. 4 start date to the legislative session, and some behind-the-scenes maneuvering, early indications are pointing in that direction.
One bill introduced by a legislative leader would increase maximum weekly temporary total disability benefits, by $260, and boost maximum permanent partial disability benefits, by $68, or 21%.
Claimants' advocates see that as a good sign.
