The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has announced it will delay enforcement of the crystalline silica standard that applies to the construction industry while it conducts additional outreach to employers.
Enforcement of the standard, which was scheduled to begin on June 23, will now begin on Sept. 23.
OSHA said time is needed for additional guidance due to the unique nature of the requirements in the construction standard.
