U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne, R-Alabama, has introduced a bill to clarify an element of the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act of 1927 to allow recreational boat manufacturers to purchase less expensive state coverage.
Byrne introduced HR 2354, dubbed the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Clarification Act of 2017, on Thursday. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, where chairwoman Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-North Carolina, has already said she supports it.
