Texas Gov. Greg Abbott appointed Cassie Brown to serve as insurance commissioner for a term that will run through Feb. 1, 2023.
Brown has served as Workers’ Compensation Commissioner since June 2018, when Abbott appointed her to fill the remaining term of Ryan Brannan, who left to start a lobbying and consulting firm. Brown was reappointed to a two-year term in February 2019 and again in February 2021.
