State lawmakers on Friday gave final approval to a bill that would modify criteria for serving on the Texas Mutual Insurance Co. board of directors.
The state House of Representatives on Friday voted 122-0 to pass SB 2077, by Sen. Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo. The Senate voted 31-0 to pass the bill April 16.
SB 2077 would revise the prohibition on appointing board members licensed under the Insurance Code to instead apply to registered or licensed insurance agents.
