Another State Moves Toward 5-Day Opioid Limit

South Carolina is the latest state to move toward a supply limit for initial prescriptions of opioids for acute pain. Gov. Henry McMaster last month issued an executive order directing the state Department of Health and Human Services to limit initial opioid prescriptions for acute and post-operative pain to a maximum of five days for state Medicaid recipients.
