The owner of a licensed cannabis company convicted of failing to pay state payroll taxes and not maintaining workers’ compensation insurance was ordered to pay $12,500 in criminal penalties, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Monica Herrera, 43, pleaded no contest to charges of payroll tax fraud and workers’ compensation insurance fraud in July. She was sentenced Tuesday.
