The California Senate Committee on Labor, Public Employment and Retirement on March 22 will hear testimony on proposals that would prohibit apportionment based on characteristics such as race or gender and create a presumption that certain injuries and illnesses are compensable for hospital workers.
Committee members will also review a bill that would, among other things, create a presumption that an employer is retaliating against a worker when it takes adverse action against an employee within 90 days of reporting a possible safety violation.
