NIOSH Updates Site on MRSA

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has added a Web page covering  employers’ concerns over Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a  bacteria normally carried on the skin or nose of otherwise healthy people.NIOSHB said in a posting Tuesday  that MRSA is transmitted in the workplace by skin-to-skin contact or contact with shared items or surfaces.The agency details in a new advisory at  www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/mrsa/ that promoting hand-washing, other good hygiene practices and the cleaning of work surfaces and equipment provi...
