Governor Signs Comp Bills

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte enacted bills that increase burial expenses and mandate workers’ compensation coverage for interns. In addition to the death benefit and student intern bills signed Thursday, Gianforte earlier in March enacted measures repealing security deposit requirements, eliminating the requirement to include medical reports with joint petitions to reopen benefits, and disallowing benefits when a worker fails to disclose pertinent preexisting medical conditions.
