Opioid prescriptions, compounded medications and physician dispensing for injured workers have all dropped sharply in the last few years, but other medication schemes are now popping up in Pennsylvania's workers' compensation system, lawmakers found out this week.
Some officials likened it to a game of whack-a-mole.
“It's like every time we target something, we're finding that the people who should be taking care of workers are shifting to something else and taking advantage of the system,” said state Rep. Chris Dush, R-Brookville.
