The first bill Minnesota lawmakers passed since returning to the Capitol at the end of January would extend the presumption that COVID-19 is compensable for frontline workers.
Gov. Tim Walz in April 2021 signed a bill extending through the end of the year the presumption covering doctors, nurses, paramedics, firefighters, police, correctional officers and child care workers.
On Thursday, the Senate unanimously approved the presumption extension in HF 1203 while the state House of Representatives voted 124-8 to send the measure to the governor, according to a report by the Pine Journal.
