Farm Labor Contractor Accused of Premium Fraud

The California Department of Insurance announced that a farm labor contractor in Stockton was arraigned on 15 felony counts of insurance fraud, grand theft and tax evasion. Alfredo Casas, 62, allegedly underreported payroll for his farm labor contracting business by more than $1 million, resulting in a substantial loss to two insurance companies and State Compensation Insurance Fund.
