Minnesota workers were a little safer on the job last year, as the rate of injured or sick employees ticked lower from 2020.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses showed the state had an estimated 3.4 OSHA-recordable, nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses per 100 full-time-equivalent workers in 2021, down slightly from 3.5 cases per 100 FTE workers the year before.
Nicole Blissenbach, temporary commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, said the agency is encouraged by the results.
