Sedgwick to Get One-Third of Restitution in MRI Fraud Case

Sedgwick will receive one-third of the nearly $30 million restitution order in what federal prosecutors have called the largest workers’ compensation fraud scheme in the history of Southern California. The U.S. District Court in San Diego at the end of January ordered Sam S. Solakyan to pay $27.9 million in restitution and serve five years in federal prison. A jury in July 2021 convicted Solakyan on one count of conspiracy and 11 counts of honest services mail fraud.
