Protz 'Fix' Applauded, but May Mean More Litigation

Insurers and employer groups are celebrating after the Pennsylvania General Assembly passed House Bill 1840, known as the “Protz Fix,” because it seeks to remedy the effects of a state Supreme Court decision that has reportedly cost businesses millions of dollars in the last year. The legislature on Wednesday night also approved SB 676, which would provide funding for the nearly insolvent Uninsured Employers’ Guaranty Fund.
