The Alaska Workers' Compensation Division announced maximum indemnity and death benefits will go up 4 percent in 2016 to account for an increase in the state's average weekly wage.
At the same time, the division on Dec. 4 published an updated list of approved independent medical examiners.
The average weekly wage used to calculate benefits for 2016 is $1,009, compared to $965.95 for 2015.
Maximum indemnity benefits are 120 percent of the average weekly wage, or $1,211 in 2016. Minimum payments are 22 percent of the maximum compensation rate, or $266 for 2016...
