Contractor Faces $819,417 in Penalties for Fall Hazards

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed $819,417 in penalties for a New Jersey contractor that it says has a history of exposing workers to potentially deadly fall hazards. OSHA said it conducted 24 inspections at Road Contractor Corp. work sites since July 2023. The company provides wood framing and sheathing services for residential construction projects. Eight of those inspections resulted in citations for 32 safety violations for failing to provide workers with fall equipment, allowing them to use ladders in an unsafe way and exposing them to silica hazard...
