A pair of Hawaii legislative committees last week passed a bill that would change the method for calculating average weekly wages by removing a provision requiring consideration only of earnings at the time of the injury.
The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 5-0 to pass Senate Bill 2641, by Sen. Stanley Chang, D-Hawaii Kai, on Feb. 11. The Senate Labor, Culture and Arts Committee voted 3-0 to pass it the same day.
