California insurance brokers and agents would be required to prominently display a copy of their licenses in physical office locations and online, under new bill language unveiled last week.
Assemblymen Ken Cooley, D-Rancho Cordova, and Tom Daly, D-Anaheim, amended AB 233 on Thursday to eliminate language that would have exempted the insurance industry from the presumption that a worker is an employee and not a contractor.
The amended bill would extend the requirement for brokers and agents to display a copy of their license to the online world as well as to other locations.
