IMR Cases Missing Records Decrease, still Number in Thousands

Medical records are at least 90 days late in more than 5,000 independent medical-review cases submitted to Maximus Federal Services, but to date, the California Division of Workers' Compensation has not fined any entities for not complying with the regulatory requirement to submit records within 15 days. An email purportedly from Maximus that was inadvertently sent to WorkCompCentral shows the number of cases in which claims handlers have not submitted records is down 63.5% since September, but the number of cases with records that are at least 90 days late increased from 2,648 to 5,...
