Court Upholds Award for Traumatic Amputation of Newly Hired Longshoreman's Fingers

A federal appellate court upheld an award of damages to a novice longshoreman who suffered the traumatic amputation of three fingers after just 10 days on the job. Coastal Cargo, a stevedoring company, hired Faustine Kiwia as a longshoreman in February 2019.
