A Mississippi appellate court affirmed the state Workers’ Compensation Committee’s decision to award benefits to a casino employee who was injured after hitting a wild hog while driving home from work.
Facts: As an off-property director of player development at the Pearl River Resort in Choctaw, Virginia, Applequist was required to generate gaming revenue by building the casino's client base and scouting new slot-parlor bingo facilities in Birmingham, Alabama.
When she wasn't traveling to competing bingo halls, Applequist worked from her home in Dora, Alabama.
