Advisory Council to Review NCCI Rate Filing

Wednesday, September 26, 2018 | 0

Tennessee’s Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation will review the National Council on Compensation Insurance's filing for a proposed 19% rate cut during a meeting in Nashville on Oct. 11.

The panel will hear from two actuaries who reviewed the filing: Mary Jean King of By the Numbers Actuarial Consulting, who is contracted with the advisory council; and Chris Burkhalter of Bickerstaff, Whatley, Ryan & Burkhalter, who was hired by the state Department of Commerce & Insurance.

Dana Cunningham, a director and actuary for NCCI, will be on hand to respond to the reviews and to comment, according to the council’s agenda.

In addition, advisory council analyst and consultant David Wilstermann will review a statistical analysis of workers’ compensation data compiled by the state Department of Labor & Workforce Development.

The meeting will be held on the 13th floor of the Andrew Jackson Building, 502 Deaderick St., Nashville. The agenda is here.
