Board Suspends Formulary Compliance Deadline for Refills

The New York Workers' Compensation Board has temporarily suspended the deadline for compliance with its drug formulary on prescription refills. The board required new prescriptions to comply with its intricate formulary starting last December and for refills to start complying in June. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the refill compliance deadline was pushed back to January. Now, the board says in a bulletin that the deadline has been waived until sometime in spring 2021, meaning that prescription refills will not need prior authorization until then.
