CWCI Projects High Mark for COVID Claims in January

The California Workers’ Compensation Institute is projecting that total COVID-19 claims filed in January will exceed the previous high-water mark from December 2020. A total of 30,554 claims with January 2022 dates of injury have been reported as of Feb. 7. The January claim count is already the second-highest for any month since the pandemic started. But CWCI is projecting the number will rise to 45,831.
