The number of workers’ compensation claims for COVID-19 in Florida fell in October to nearly the lowest level since the pandemic started, according to a report by the state Division of Workers’ Compensation.
The division reports 338 COVID claims with dates of injury in October, down from 1,927 in September and 7,008 in August. The only months with fewer claims were January 2020 with seven and February 2020 with 16.
The division reports a total of 59,177 COVID-19 claims filed since 2020 and total payments of $147.7 million.
