A U.S. District Court judge in Texas is being asked to decide whether the state can regulate the prices that air ambulance companies charge for transporting workers injured in industrial accidents. Many states have fee schedules for air ambulance reimbursement rates, with Alaska establishing one just last year, but the Air Evac ambulance company is arguing that federal law pre-empts states from imposing such restrictions.
