Hospital Worker Presumption Amended to ID Covered Cancers

Legislation that would create a presumption that certain diseases, post-traumatic stress disorder and musculoskeletal injuries are compensable for some California hospital workers was amended to identify types of cancer that would also be covered. Sen. Dave Cortese, D-San Jose, on Tuesday amended Senate Bill 213 to add language that would create presumptive coverage for liver, kidney cancer, ovarian, breast, nasopharyngeal and thyroid cancer.
