The California Division of Workers' Compensation on Friday urged employers and providers to look for work-related cases of bird flu.
The DWC said bird flu cases have been identified in workers on California dairy farms and among commercial poultry workers in other states. California also has several poultry flock outbreaks currently.
"Employers and health care providers should be on the lookout for potential cases of bird flu," the division said in a statement. "They should assist symptomatic employees in obtaining workers' compensation evaluation and care."
