Six months after the North Carolina Supreme Court put to bed the issue of caps on ambulatory surgical center fees, a lower court has tucked it in and turned off the light.
The Sept. 18 action by Wake County Superior Court Judge Paul Ridgeway, which affirms the Industrial Commission's 2015 fee schedule, is something of a formality. But it puts an official end to years of litigation and underscores the legislature's efforts to reign in some workers' compensation costs, commission officials said.
