Sewer Line Contractor Hit for Putting Workers at Risk of Trench Collapse

After one if its inspectors saw a Pennsylvania contractor putting workers in danger while they worked in a trench, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration opened an investigation into Alton Industries Inc. in Canonsburg. The company was given one willful and one serious violation citation and is facing fines of $42,000 for the alleged safety lapses, according to OSHA.
