Managers at the Florida produce company targeted last week in the arrest of 105 undocumented workers are suspected of underreporting payroll to an insurer and may have known about widespread use of fake identification at a Naples packing plant, according to affidavits filed in connection with the arrests.
Investigators from the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud and the Collier County, Florida, Sheriff's Department last week raided a fruit and vegetable packing plant operated by produce company Oakes Farms in Naples and arrested workers from Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador.
