Revisions to the federal anti-kickback statute, and restrictions on physician self-referral, may be on the way as officials take a look at whether the laws are hindering medical providers’ ability to offer value-based care.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued a request for information last month on barriers created by the Stark Law, which prohibits physicians from making referrals for certain health care services to an entity with which he or an immediate family member has a financial relationship.
