North Dakota state lawmakers have introduced legislation that would provide workers' compensation coverage to first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, in addition to other bills that would make changes to the state's monopoly workers' compensation program.
House Bill 1317 by Rep. Amerman, D-Forman, would both provide workers' comp benefits to full-time paid firefighters, law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel who have been diagnosed with PTSD stemming from an event that occurred on the job.
