Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed into law a measure creating a fund to pay for benefits when public safety officers are diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.
DeWine announced on Saturday that he signed HB 308, by Rep. Thomas F. Patton, R-Strongsville.
The bill creates the Post-Traumatic Stress Fund in the state treasury and specifies that it will provide indemnity and medical benefits for public safety officers diagnosed with PTSD without an accompanying compensable physical injury.
