The Alaska Workers’ Compensation Board will no longer accept parties’ questions for second independent medical evaluators.
The board in May 2019 repealed the right of parties to submit questions to the board’s designees who would then submit those questions to second independent medical evaluators.
The Workers’ Compensation Division on Feb. 3 issued a bulletin that serves as notice that the WCB will enforce the rules as written, “and the parties’ SIME questions will no longer be accepted.”
