Bill Would Allow DA Meetings With Carriers, Self-Insureds to Address 'Rampant' Comp Fraud

County prosecutors throughout California could convene meetings with insurance carriers and self-insured employers to discuss specific information about suspected fraud, under recently introduced legislation. The insurance commissioner is allowed to convene investigative debriefings with prosecutors in an effort to fight fraud, according to AB 1681, by Assemblyman Tom Daly, D-Anaheim.
