Hospitals next year plan to increasingly outsource billing and collections for complex claims, including workers’ compensation, according to a report from Black Book Market Research.
Black Book’s 2016 Revenue Cycle Management survey found that outsourcing of complex claims to specialized providers increased from 20.4% of all U.S. hospitals in 2013, to 39.8% in the third quarter of 2016.
