Bills Would Expand Cancer Presumption for Firefighters

At least four bills filed in the Maryland legislature would make it easier for firefighters to qualify for workers' compensation benefits if they are diagnosed with cancer. Gov. Larry Hogan has requested Senate Bill 160, which would add bladder, kidney or renal cell cancer to the list of diseases presumed to be compensable for firefighters.
